Optimal Wellness at Work

 Wellness in the Workplace

In-house CPD-approved training events for the smallest business to the largest corporation, tailored to your company's individual requirements

What Lloyds Bank has to say .....

Lynn came to discuss nutrition and functional medicine to our ‘Menopause Hub’ group which was formed to break down the taboo of discussing the menopause, help individuals that may be struggling with symptoms and to provide a great support network within our site in Gloucester.

Lynn’s presentation was so informative.  She stripped everything right back to the make-up of our cells, the nutrients that we require and how factors that affect our hormones can have a knock on affect to other hormones.  Her breakdown of how a balanced diet can have such a transformative impact on us all left the whole group with a greater understanding of how improvements to our wellbeing can be made with some simple changes.

I have received some fantastic feedback from the group with colleagues extremely appreciative of the handouts that Lynn provided on what to include in their diet to help with menopausal symptoms.  Others have found the balanced plate handout so useful for family mealtime planning and changing their mind-set that fats aren’t all bad!

I genuinely believe, following Lynn’s presentation, that she has changed my way of thinking about food and I would thoroughly recommend a consultation with her if anyone is struggling with ailments or issues.  She is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and truly wants to help.  I could not recommend her more highly.’

Did you know that  1.4 million workers suffered work-related ill health in the year 2017 - 2018, leading to 26.8 million working days being lost

Work-related stress, depression and anxiety accounted for the majority of days lost, then of course there are the seasonal colds, ‘flu, throat, ear and chest infections and other viral and bacterial complaints.

In the workplace itself, individual’s typically experience afternoon energy slumps and tiredness, ‘foggy head’ and reduced ability to concentrate, and lowered moods.

Optimal Wellness at Work events take a functional medicine approach, not only to help every member of the workforce reduce or overcome all of these work-related health issues but also to optimise their overall health and reduce the risk of future chronic disease through simple dietary and lifestyle changes.

A typical half-day workshop may include:

  • Understanding ‘stress,’ and how the foods you eat and some simple lifestyle changes can significantly reduce anxiety, stress, depression and the detrimental effects of all stress on our health

  • How the body produces energy - what and when to eat to maintain energy levels, avoid ‘slumps’ and increase vitality

  • Eating to improve cognitive function, maintain concentration and avoid a ‘foggy head’

  • Supporting the immune system to reduce the risk of viral, bacterial and other infections

In all cases, everyone receives a comprehensive take-home toolkit to aid them on their personal journey to optimal health, along with a CPD certificate of attendance
