Modern living can cause our diets to lack essential nutrients that can severely impact on our health
Clinical Nutrition or Nutritional Therapy is an evidence-based, individual, holistic approach to healthcare, addressing the underlying causes of ill health rather than just treating the symptoms.
The human body is made up of trillions of cells. Each individual cell is like a tiny machine, responsible for carrying out thousands of essential biochemical processes every day; all these tiny cells work in synergy to run the ‘big’ machine - YOU. For optimal health, performance and energy each cell requires a specific range of nutrients from the foods we eat; if we don’t provide the cells with these essential nutrients, our cells cannot perform to their full capacity and we will not experience our full health potential. Scientific evidence shows that nutritional imbalances can significantly contribute to the onset of disease.
To help assess your specific imbalances, in advance of your first consultation, you will be asked to complete 3 detailed health questionnaires and a food and lifestyle diary which include details of your medical history, symptoms, familial predispositions, diet and lifestyle. It is very important that you return these documents at least 72 hours before the consultation to allow sufficient time for analysis and research of your case.
During the consultation, using her knowledge and expertise based on the most current research evidence, Lynn will discuss your health issues and ensure you have an understanding of the underlying physiological and biochemical processes that may be impacting on your health.
She will devise a Nutritional Therapy programme according to your individual needs that includes a personal nutrition report along with supporting fact sheets, and recommended nutritional supplements as appropriate.
Nutritional Therapy is a recognised complementary medicine that can be used on its own or alongside any other therapies.
Lynn is happy to work with general practitioners or specialist consultants in the ongoing management of individual health conditions.
